Sofia, Bulgaria – The Bulgarian Outsourcing Association (BOA) elected Ivaylo Slavov, CEO of BULPROS, as its new chairman. The appointment was made by the newly elected BOA management board at an extraordinary general meeting on 22nd May 2018.
Ivaylo Slavov has more than 20 years of international experience in the fields of Information Technology, Financial Services, IT-Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing and Human Resources. In April 2010 he co-founded BULPROS and in 2017 he was recognized by Deloitte and Manager Magazine as one of the top 10 managers in Bulgaria. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham).
Commenting on his appointment as BOA chairman, Ivaylo Slavov said:
“The outsourcing industry has been facing major changes on a global level, which are driven by Cloud Technologies, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, etc. The profile of the requested services is changing and call centers are no longer the preferred business choice. The demand for added value is increasing and companies are now looking for shared services, outsourcing of business processes, human resources, facility management, etc.”
Ivaylo Slavov pointed out, that the main challenge the Bulgarian outsourcing industry is facing, is the need for qualified experts, especially in the IT sector. By 2020 the outsourcing industry is expected to employ more than 60 000 people and to generate about 4.2% of the country’s GDP. However, this growth largely depends on the people and therefore the government, the business and the educational institutions need to collaborate and focus on relevant problems and respective measures. Ivaylo Slavov also emphasized the need of motivating the young professionals, who currently study and work abroad, to return and work in their native country.
Ivaylo Slavov also stated that one of the main priorities of BOA would be developing the potential of several Bulgarian cities (besides Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna) such as Blagoevgrad, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas and Ruse, and turning them into attractive outsourcing destinations.
“I believe that the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association has the potential to become a regional industry leader in Southeastern Europe,” explained further Ivaylo Slavov.
